The Bob Cold Award
The Bob Cold Award is given annually to the outstanding senior
Computer Science major. The award is named after Bob Cold, a U. S. Army
officer who came back to school to complete his B.S. degree in Computer
Science under the Army's "Bootstrap" Program. Approximately one semester
before he was to graduate, Bob was diagnosed with terminal cancer. Instead
of quitting school, Bob decided to complete his degree. He died
approximately 6 weeks after he graduated. Bob's fellow Bootstrappers
decided to collect some money and use it as the basis for the award.
